Charles W. Gibney
Charles W. Gibney is Executive Vice President, Treasurer, and Chief Financial Officer of North Jersey Media Group Inc., and Senior Vice President and Treasurer of its parent company, Macromedia Incorporated.
Prior to joining Macromedia in 1988, Charlie was chief financial officer at Spex Group in Edison, NJ, from 1983 to 1988. Earlier in his career he was manager of finance at Hunt Manufacturing in Philadelphia, and a financial analyst with Richardson Merrell, Vick Chemical Division, in Fort Washington, PA.
Charlie oversees all North Jersey Media Group acquisitions, and serves as a member of the company's Pension and Retirement Savings Plan Committee. He instituted gainsharing programs in the Daily and Commercial Printing divisions as a way to reward employees for efforts that improve company efficiency and profitability. The gainsharing programs complement the company’s Continuous Improvement goals. Charlie also spearheads a "Working Smart" campaign to reduce Worker’s Compensation costs and raise employee awareness of safety and ergonomics in the workplace.
